Day 166: Colonics, Underwear, Groceries, Bedding, and Speech Therapy
How’s that for a interesting collection of expenses? It certainly was a full day. Here we go with my today’s daily dollar diary entry:
Alternative Care & Supplements — $106.57
I started the morning with a colonic session ($70) and bought a bottle of herbal supplements specifically formulated to give relief for some of my IBS symptoms (most [...]
Day 159: Groceries! and Speech
We started the day with a speech therapy session for The Son — $60.00. Therapy is still going well and The Son has now completed two recipe reviews (though the second one took him two weeks and still needs a bit of polish). This week’s assignment is to write a paper on celebrity political endorsements. [...]
Day 138: Undies and Outers, Speech and Baseball
The Son announced the other day that he needed new underwear. Well, knock me down with a feather. This is a kid who will do just about anything to avoid having to be involved, even remotely, with new clothing and/or shopping of any kind.
His acknowledgement of needing new underwear was the surprise; the need, however, [...]
Day 131: Speech Therapy and Gospel Music
Today was crammed with appointments for me and The Son. I started out the day with a morning appointment at my doctor’s office for a blood draw for a thyroid test. Painful and annoying but no copay necessary — the insurance company should pick up the whole tab.
The next appointment was for The Son to [...]
Day 102: Co-pay, Quicksilver, and iTunes
Another busy day spending money.
Doctor — $25.00
Had to take The Son in to the doctor today. I’m concerned that he looked jaundiced; he ripped his big toenail bad during last night’s game; and I wanted a referral for whomever the Dr. would suggest we see next in our search for a diagnosis for our quirky [...]
Day 94: Drama/Trauma and Rescue Remedy
Today was a horrible, no-good, very bad day for The Son. I mean awful. An emotional awful. Emotional awfuls are really hard on 13-year-old boys. The Son is bright and witty but he has some kind of learning disorder (Expressive Language Disorder?) or neuropsych issues (high-functioning Asperger’s?) that has yet to be properly diagnosed. Communication [...]
Day 87: Gas, Groceries, and Gifts
I ended up making purchases I hadn’t anticipated but overall it was a very purposeful and productive day. Yeah, there were one or two unnecessary impulse buys but that’s what comes with a trip to Costco at Christmas time, right?
Costco — $100.99
I went in for juice boxes and those Izze sodas. OMG! Do you know what those things cost?! $11.45 for [...]
