Day 27

Published by Suburban Wife under gifts, hba, clothing, Daily $$'s

Best Buy — $20.00
Gift card for The Daughter to give to a friend/classmate for his 16th birthday.

Target — $10.22
Shampoo, conditioner, elastic hairbands, and bobby pins — all for The Daughter.

Gap Outlet — $76.92
Socks, sweater vest, and khaki shorts for The Son. The shorts will have to be returned because the inseam length is ridiculously long and The Son rejected them. I don’t blame him. Also purchased 4 pair of boxer shorts for The Nephew whose birthday is coming up soon.

American Eagle — $42.69
Boyfriend jeans for The Daughter. Good gosh, these things are so expensive!

Post Office — $17.46
Postage for two international packages mailed today. I mailed out 11 packages today. Thank goodness I’m all set up for printing domestic shipping labels here at home — I’ve got one of those really Zebra 4×6 thermal label printers. It makes shipping so much easier. Even though some international postage can be purchased on-line and printed at home, I prefer to do it by hand and buy my postage at the post office.

Day 17

Published by Suburban Wife under auto, hba, Daily $$'s

Exxon — $20.00
Not a fill-up because I couldn’t stop at either of my usual gas stations but I needed gas so I got $20’s worth.

Arby’s — $17.67
Dinner for The Son, The Daughter, and The Husband on our way home from watching a varsity game.

Pixie Soap — $21.20
“Oats Gone Wild” handmade soap — I’m simply addicted to this stuff. I keep a bar of it on my wooden soap dish next to the kitchen sink. The oatmeal in the soap provides handy texture to help get my hands cleaner than smooth soap and I love the scent. http://www.pixiesoap.com/

Day 15

Published by Suburban Wife under hba, food, Daily $$'s

Church — $10.00
weekly offering

Wild Oats — $29.24
Pizza slices and drinks for The Son and The Daughter; sushi tray and Odwalla juice for me. Also veggies and dishwasher tablets.

Kroger — $35.74
groceries: Amy’s frozen burritos (buy one, get one sale), ice cream, lunch meat, corn chips, chocolate chip cookies, cheese, over-ripe bananas (for banana bread), chewing gum (ugh, can’t believe I buy it), dried fruit, bread, cereal, tomato sauce, strawberries, applesauce, peanut butter. I saved $10.18 with my Kroger card and saved another $15.00 by applying two gift checks from Kroger (benefit of using my Kroger Mastercard).

Vitamin Cottage — $27.12
Annie’s mac & cheese, toaster pastries (chocolate, not in Costco’s package), tomato sauce (the 1/2-size cans that Kroger doesn’t carry, we usually eat 1-1/2 cans when I make spaghetti). Also bought shaving foam, pads, panty liners, and a Burt’s Lip Shimmer for The Daughter.

Day 10

Published by Suburban Wife under health, hba, Daily $$'s

Supplements — $30.12
Fifty day supply. I’m not a big vitamin and supplement person but this stuff might actually be helping.

Haircut — $70.00
She absolutely butchered my hair. I’m not sure how much of my “just a trim; not too short ’cause it’s getting cold” she didn’t understand but its soooo short!! At least I have a good collection of baseball caps. I figure it will take a good 2 months before it’s long enough to curl again :-( I look like a young guy instead of middle-aged woman.
