Suburban Wife’s Daily Dollar Diary

a financial voyeur’s dream — all the intimate details of how, where, and why I spend money

$$: A Genuine No-Spend Day

Well, the title says it all.  I didn’t spend any money today.  Neither did The Daughter.  Yippie!

$$: Bone-Knitting on Veteran’s Day

Happy Veteran’s Day

Happy Veteran’s Day!
May I take a moment to express my gratitude to all who have served to preserve the freedoms that my family and I enjoy.
The Husband is actually a DAV (disabled American veteran) though he never served active duty.  His injury was sustained States-side.
The kids have always thought it fun that their [...]

$$: No (Direct) Spending Today

I’ve been feeling sick for well over a week but today my body took it to a whole new level.  I’m a little concerned that I have an infection of some type — about 12:30 today I realized I was in a great deal of pain.  [Now I'm no hero immune to pain but honestly [...]

So the last thing I felt like doing was leaving the house to go shopping.  Too bad for me we were completely out of milk.  Running out [...]

$$: Shepard Fairey “Yes, We Did” Bumper Stickers

MoveOn.org — $3.00
In September I bought six of the now-famous Shepard Fairey “Hope” Obama bumper stickers.  Today I snagged five stickers featuring Fairey’s follow-up “Yes We Did” artwork.
The “Hope” stickers are all sold out.  I’m thrilled that I managed to score some of this new design before it, too, sells out.
