$$: School Lunches, Milk, & Vitamins
School Lunches — $41.10
Three weeks’ worth of hot (mostly) organic school lunches for The Son. Well, three weeks’ worth of his allotted two meals per week, that is. That includes 6 meals plus 6 extra portions of entree, veggie, and fruit plus fruit juice.

The Son skipped his basketball games today and instead came home right after school because he’s sick. Poor fella. Nose is dripping; headache; aching body. He wanted some Annie’s Mac & Cheese for dinner but we were all out of milk. So, naturally, I ran to the store. As you’ll see, I picked up a couple of extra items.
Natural Grocers — $50.10

And now for more college news:
The Daughter is floating 10 feet off the ground right now. One of the most competitive schools she applied for (one that both The Husband and I thought was just as likely to not even accept her) just sent The Daughter a very attractive scholarship offer. If not the most expensive school she applied for, it’s in the top 2 or 3 no doubt. But the scholarship offer was so large that it brings the entire annual expense (room, board, tuition, fees, etc) down to very close to what we feel we can afford (a reach but not an over-reach). That means it brings the cost of attending a highly ranked private liberal arts college down to the cost of paying full-ride at the state university. I’m absolutely thrilled for her; and quite proud too.
