Gas, Groceries, & Errata
First things first. My bad. It was late; my brain was confused.
The other day I wrote about our Subaru Outback (aka The Silver Bullet) and new tires and I was waxing appreciative that it would not need to have the factory installed tires replaced as early as The Husband's Subaru Impreza (aka The Roo) did. Well, I was looking at the wrong odometer. That happens sometimes. The trip meter is larger and more prominent that the car's actual odometer. When I stopped at the tire store the trip meter was at 3,8xx and I took it as the odometer and read it as 38,xxx. Today when I stopped for gas and, is my habit, wrote down the mileage from the odometer I realized my error. The Silver Bullet, if I do indeed get another 6,000 miles out of this set of tires, will follow exactly in it's older Subaru sibling's tire tracks and need replacement tires at 30,000 miles. Bummer. Well, the consolation is that I know I'll get much better than 30,000 miles out of the next set.
Now, on to the day's expenses:
Natural Grocers -- $75.74
[The entire balance was applied to my school-fundraiser grocery gift cards.]
Safeway Gas -- $32.65
I filled up The Silver Bullet. Pumped 14.391 gallon @ $2.269 per gallon. The odometer (not the trip meter) read 23,581 miles.
