At the Car Wash

Today was awfully close to being a no-spend day.  Unfor­tu­nately, the money I des­per­ately wanted to spend didn’t get spent.  I’ll explain but first let me item­ize the money I did spend.

Car Wash — ~$5.00

The Out­back was filthy and the tem­per­a­ture was above freez­ing for the first time in over a week so I stopped at the car wash this after­noon.  There was a long line for the two auto­matic wash stalls so I quickly ducked into an empty do-it-yourself stall and gave at least the first layer of win­ter grime a good blast.  I didn’t bother with the foam brush, too cold for that.  I put the wash on a credit card and didn’t receive a receipt so I’m approx­i­mat­ing what I think I spent today.

That’s the money I did spend.  The money I wanted to spend, but didn’t, was the $34.95 I have ear­marked for YNAB3.  Appar­ently Jesse start­ing the pub­lic beta release today but they’re doing a stag­gered release so things don’t get too bogged down.  Down­loads will be avail­able by invi­ta­tion only at first and I have not yet received my email invi­ta­tion.  I was hop­ing I’d be one of the early invi­tees since I orig­i­nally pur­chased the soft­ware over two years ago.  But no such luck.  So as des­per­ate as I am to spend that $34.95 and get to play­ing around with the YNAB soft­ware on my Mac, I guess I’ll just have to wait my turn.  I’ll wait but I don’t have to be happy about it.
