Bagels & Shmear

Ah, Sundays.  Don't you just love Sunday?  I do.

Today was a beautiful day with just the right amount of fall crispness in the air.  Fall is my favorite season of the year.

What a gift to be blessed both with a beautiful fall Sunday and the wisdom (or simplicity of mind) to enjoy it  ;-)

After church today, The Son and I stopped by Einstein Bros. Bagels  ($9.04) and picked up 1/2 dozen bagels and a tub of plain shmear.  I do miss the simple pleasure of a good bagel with cream cheese.

After the service I asked The Son's English teacher if he would spend a couple of minutes trying to talk The Son out of his panic about this latest writing assignment.  Apparently it worked because this evening The Son finished the paper and, even though he wouldn't let me read it, it certainly looked longer than the required 1.5 pages.  [Handy, that, going to the same church as several of the children's teachers.]

This evening I made a loaf of banana bread and a double batch of my hot pocket sandwiches (I really am going to share my recipe at some point).  Since I've volunteered to drive for two all-day class field trips this week, having those sandwiches on hand will mean the difference between getting to eat and going hungry.
