Yesterday was a no-spend day. Whoop! Not so much because I didn't spend any money but because I didn't have to go out and buy anything, if that makes sense.
The past few days have been a long, blurry, sleep-deprived marathon of caring for sick kids and running errands to buy supplies related to their sickness. Yesterday seemed a turning point -- both still felt pretty bad, but they both felt better. The Daughter ate a few spoonfuls of soup and some crackers. The Son ate some apple and a yogurt. Both sipped on Ginger Ale and some water -- not as much fluids as I would have liked, but better than nothing. And way better than the negative fluid retention of the previous days, if you know what I mean.
I did try to call their Dr. yesterday but he's out of town through the weekend so I had to go back to being faithful and patient.
Back-to-School activities start today staring with an all-high-school potluck picnic at the park. Because we have two students, we need to take two food items. And I'm all out of laundry detergent. So I will be shopping today -- right after church and an Apple OneToOne lesson. Hopefully the kids are feeling well enough to take more nourishment today and, if possible, a quick drop-in-and-say-hi at tonight's picnic.
