Sick Kids & Misc Necessary Supplies

Kids are still sick.  It's been a long couple of days -- longer for them than me but still....

Based on their symptoms, and the lack of illness in me and The Husband, I've diagnosed them as having food poisoning.  Vomiting, headaches, body aches.  Neither has eaten more than a few bites in the past two days.  They're weak and dizzy and really losing patience with not feeling well....

I did call our local health department and report the food-borne illness.  We think it was from the Wendy's we stopped for on Tuesday night; it's the only food they ate in common within 3 days before they got ill.  More specifically, we think it was from the Vanilla Frosties they ate.

School starts on Tuesday with an all-high-school all-day hike; The Husband and I aren't sure they'll be able to make it.  But that's a couple days down the road so we'll worry about it when it happens.  Right now I'm mostly concerned about them becoming dehydrated.

Yesterday, despite no sleep and two very sick kids, I did go out and spend some money.  The kids needed some bland, light food.  And The Son's mattress needed something to combat the horribly vile bile smell.  Oh, and I did drop into the T.J. Maxx next to the pet supply store and hit the jackpot for a suitcase I hadn't been able to find all summer.

Health Food Store -- $11.35

  • peppermint tea -- $2.89
  • 4 Brown Cow yogurt cups -- $0.79/ea.
  • 2 boxes of soda crackers -- $2.65/ea.

Petco -- $27.95

*Okay, this stuff is pretty amazing.  My mother's talked about it before but not having pets, it's not something I've ever needed before.

T.J. Maxx -- $75.31

Excellent and perfectly designed carry-on wheeled luggage with wet-pocket and expandable main compartment.
