I had every intention of posting my daily expenditures today, oops, I mean yesterday. I also had every intention of catching you all up on our visit to see my mom and all of the money I spent on the trip -- because spend I did.
But it was a busy day, what with an early morning Apple OneToOne lesson followed by Ikea furniture assembly, reminding teens of the chores they needed to do, catching up on laundry, and refilling a very, very empty refrigerator. Just as the day was winding down and I was gearing up to write a quick post, The Daughter's stomach starting causing problems. Big problems.
The vomiting didn't start until about 10:30pm but it went on, every half an hour, until 2:30. When your 17yo is sick, there's not much you can do but be there to hold her hair, hand her tissues, or get her a drink. So that's what I did, over and over again.
And just when she seemed to be over it, that's when The Son's stomach took over. But at least she made it to the toilet. The Son was sound asleep the first time his stomach erupted. What a mess. Took me the better part of 1.5 hours to clean it all up. Meantime, he showered and fell asleep on the bathroom floor only to wake up every half an hour to throw up again. At least now he was close to the toilet.
So here it is, almost 5 o'clock in the morning and I'm still up. I had to completely disassemble his bed and half his bedframe plus wash his entire floor, his brand new bedside table, his chair, desk, wall, and door. Now I'm waiting for the first load of bedsheets and pajamas to finish so I can wash his mattress pad. Then his blanket.
I will post today's (I mean yesterday's) expenses and, if nothing else, the highlights of our visit with my mom. I'm just not sure when.

Let’s just hope it doesn’t hit you!
@ Whitney — so far so good. The closest I’ve come is when dealing with The Son’s first eruption. Lucky for me I have a strong stomach and a very conservative gag reflex.
I slept a couple of hours. The Son is still throwing up every now and again and sleeping in between. But there’s nothing left to get rid of so it’s quite painful. If he follows the same pattern as The Daughter, he’ll be done within the next hour or so.
I sincerely hope this is a better day for you and you got needed rest. Take good care of you!
