$$: Gifts, Meds, and Groceries

Ah, finally catching up with my Daily $$ posts.  I'm really tired and desperately want to go to bed but I refuse to until I'm all caught up.  So, without further ado, here we go:

Kroger -- $10.00

We dropped off the doc's prescription yesterday and I picked up my new thyroid meds today.  I'm now taking a daily dose of 112mcg of thyroid replacement.  Let's hope this is the first step to feeling better and recovering some degree of functionality.

Natural Grocers -- $43.51

  • 4 boxes of Dr. Oekter's brownie mix -- $2.15/ea.  (saved $0.60/ea.)
  • 2 boxes of Dr. Oekter's oatmeal muffin mix -- $2.15/ea.  (saved $0.60/ea.)
  • 6 tins of smoked oysters (4 will be used as stocking stuffers) -- $1.89/ea.  (saved $0.46/ea.)
  • 3 packages of Newman's Own chocolate cups (more stocking stuffers) -- $1.15/ea. (saved $0.20/ea.)
  • 3 boxes of Nature's Path chocolate toaster pastries (more stocking stuffers) -- $2.19/ea. (saved $0.30/ea.)
  • package of sliced Applegate Farms roast beef -- $5.19
  • gallon of Horizon 2% milk -- $5.19

Amazon.com -- $79.99

Lego kit for my nephew.  Theoretically the cost will be split between me, my mom, and my youngest sister with my middle sister (boy's mom) kicking in any extra not covered by everyone else's birthday budget.  My budget is $25.00.  My mom and sisters are pretty good about paying me back but I do try to avoid these situations where I fork out large amounts of cash and hope other people get around to paying me back.

I do love the free shipping I get from Amazon;  sure makes gift-giving a more cost-effective and easier-to-swallow proposition.
