Kroger Rewards and Delayed Shipping

Yesterday's mail delivery included an envelope from Kroger.  Based on the number of points I've acquired through the use of my Kroger 1-2-3 Rewards credit card, I received $15.00 of grocery checks that can be redeemed toward purchases made at Krogers.  To me, these checks are as good as money in the bank -- I endorse them like checks and $15.00 is taken straight off my checkout total.

I also received 4 general-use coupons all tailored to my shopping habits, ie. $1.00 of any hair care product, $0.50 of any boxed cereal.  All together, the coupons are worth $2.75 and, unlike most manufacturer's coupons, I'll be able to put all of them to good use.

That's the good news.  Now for the bad news.

This afternoon I received an email from Langston's with expected shipping dates for the blue jeans I ordered yesterday.  I gave the email a cursory glance and was about to send it to my archives when a date caught my eye.  Apparently my order won't ship until December 12th.  I appears that although my 501 shrink-to-fits are in stock and ready to go, The Son's Levi's 559s are backordered.  Thus the shipping delay.  I am really quite bummed.

Since I've already gone two years with just one pair of wearable jeans, another two or three weeks shouldn't be any big deal.  But now that I've made the commitment and spent the money, darn it, I was looking forward to the luxury of not having to carefully time my laundry.  C'est la vie.
