Chiropractor — $35.00

Remember when The Son broke his clavicle in early September?  Well, his body’s been a mess ever since — as you might well imagine.  After all, he didn’t just fall and snap his collarbone.  No, he tripped and tumbled and took off large patches of skin on his hip and back and bruised his kidney and broke his clavicle.  Then he spent the next 7–8 weeks in a sling.

Every once in a while he’d mention how much his neck or upper back or lower back, etc was stiff or sore or otherwise hurting.  I put off taking him to the chiropractor simply because it didn’t seem like a good idea until his bone had had a good chance to knit together.  I realize in retrospect that I could have taken him earlier — she’s not a bone-cracking chiropractor, after all.

Still, I waited until today.  I was pleased to hear that he wasn’t as far out-of-whack as one might imagine he’d be and would need to go in again only if and when he felt he needed another adjustment.
