$$: More Clothes & Gas
As I've already written, I spent most of the day working for the Obama campaign on one final GOTV push.
But I did manage to spend a little bit of money.
Gap -- ($19.33)
During the one break in my volunteer duties, I stopped in the Gap store and returned the two pair of canvas pants I'd purchased last Thursday for The Son. Instead of taking a full refund, I checked out the sale racks and bought two deeply discounted items that I know he'll like but I'm not entirely sure he needs. We'll take a look at these purchases tomorrow and decide together whether or not to keep them:
Costco Gas -- $38.34
The Tank needed refueling and Costco was right on the way to pick up The Son. I pumped 16.899 gallons at $2.269 per gallon. The odometer read 134,141.
Shoe Store -- $0.00
The shoe store was right there around the corner from the Gap and I desperately need a new pair of sneakers. I tried on every single pair of "neutral" shoes (I have very high arches and tend to suppenate so I need shoes that don't have too much outer heel support) but my poor body is currently experiencing a high degree of chronic pain and I simply could not accurately evaluate the different options. When I'm suffering a Fibro flare, my feet become particularly sensitive. It's a Catch-22 type of situation because my shoes are quite broken down offering me little to no comfort and support just at a time when I need it most yet I hurt too much to pick out a new, more supportive pair.
The clerk very kindly made notes of the 4 pair of shoes that hurt the least so as soon as my pain begins to abate, I can go in and more easily choose the right pair.
