$$: Paint & an Investment Funds Transfer

Kwal Paint -- $9.46
I've completely abandoned my hunt for the right color for the exterior of our house and am now hoping simply for an acceptable color.  This latest quart, if not an acceptable color, is the closest I've come so far.  The problem is, the weather turned cold and overcast yesterday so I haven't been able to evaluate the color in the full sun.  Since we get sun about 350 days a year around here, there's no way to say yes or no until I can see it in the sunshine.

My painter called on Thursday -- and that call triggered a whole flood of mixed emotions.  I am ultra motivated to find an acceptable color so I can call the painter and be done with this project!  This exterior paint project has so far been my least favorite home-improvement project ever.

Funds Transfer - from Checking to Sharebuilder MoneyMarket Cash -- $200.00
I currently own 33.2862 shares of GE stock.  For me, the dropping prices signal "buy, buy, buy."  I know, I know.  "Investing" in a single stock is against all the rules.  That's okay with me.  I'm not all that into rules.

I invest fun money.  I invest for fun.  GE stock is, in my opinion, as close to a mutual fund as you can get in a single stock.

I usually just set up my Sharebuilder account to make an automatic stock "buy."  As long as I do my thing before business close on Monday, Sharebuilder transfers the necessary funds automatically from my checking account and makes the stock purchase on Tuesday.  But with the volatility of the market these days, I wanted to have the funds available so I could make a "real-time" trade at the drop of a hat -- if that's what I decide to do.  At this point in the week, however, I'll probably just set up a one-time automatic trade for Tuesday.  The cost of a real-time trade is twice as much as a Tuesday automatic trade and since I have no expertise with the market, trying to time a purchase for a real-time buy seems a little like trying to guess when to spit into the wind.

I'll report back in when I end up spending that transferred $200.
