Water Co. — $116.62
An outrageously high water bill this time (we get billed every two months).  Our bill in August was higher than normal and it had a little note saying that a potential leak might exist and that we should investigate and get it repaired.  Well, I blew it off because I’d done way more watering of the front yard than usual in a pathetic effort to green it up before my family visited.  But then this latest bill arrived, even larger, with the same note at the bottom.  The only real possiblity was the basement toilet but I pooh-poohed that possibility saying that I would have heard the running long ago.  Well, I was wrong — again.  It appears that the basement toilet is leaking (a small but constant stream of water washing over the top of the overflow pipe in the tank).  It’s the only toilet in the house that we haven’t replaced — yet.  Guess we’ll be taking care of that soon.  The tank’s inner workings have been replaced at least once as well as having been jury-rigged more than once.  I didn’t feel like messing with it tonight so I shut off the water source and will deal with it tomorrow.

Costco — $55.58
I tanked up The Tank:  pumped 16.256 gallons at $3.419 per gallon.

Chipotle — $4.25
Charged by The Daughter, with my permission of course, for her dinner after her volleyball game tonight.
