Day 127: Charity Donation

Posted on | January 6, 2008 |

Today was a nice quiet, wind-down day for the kids and I.  My mom left early this morning and was glad for the early start because the weather was yucky for a good bit of the trip.

The only money I spent was the $15.00 weekly offering check I wrote at church this morning.

I’d hoped we could fit in the new National Treasure movie this afternoon but The Daughter had too many things to get done in preparation of a return to school tomorrow.  They’re going right into trig on Monday and she wanted to get her desk cleaned off and her room cleaned and straightened.

The Son and I have to get up super early because we have to go all the way across town – it doesn’t get any more across town than this — for an 8:45am doctor’s appointment with a liver specialist.  In the best of traffic conditions I’d allow for a 45-minute travel time; tomorrow in rush hour traffic I’m allotting 1-1/4 hours.  I think I should be dreading the results of the tests and possible causes of his elevated bilirubin count but, honestly, right now the drive is what I’m obsessing over.  Maybe it’s a coping mechanism.
