Day 107: Chicken and Oysters

Posted on | December 17, 2007 |

Vitamin Cottage — $14.13
What I dummy I can be.  Vitamin Cottage had an incredible sale going on tins of smoked oysters.  I bought a couple tins a few weeks ago and intended to go back before the sale ended to pick up a few more.  The Son loves smoked oysters — as did his mom before him; unfortunately I’m now allergic to the oil they’re packed in   :-(

Anyway, I forgot to go back in time and now the sale has ended.  I’ve been counting on using them to help stuff The Son’s stocking on Christmas eve.  Since they’re full-priced again, I only bought two tins ($2.35/ea.).

I also picked up a package of three nice-sized boneless, skinless chicken breasts ($9.09) which I covered with a white sauce gravy, baked, and served for dinner tonight along with rice and broccoli.
