No, The Daughter&#039;s birthday isn&#039;t for another two months.  But she does really &lt;i&gt;want&lt;/i&gt; a new car -- though she does understand full well that she won&#039;t get one.  I&#039;ve made it clear that even if I were floating in cash and money were no problem, I &lt;b&gt;would not&lt;/b&gt; buy her a car for her birthday.  I&#039;m not a fan of 16-year-olds being given cars.

I&#039;m so relieved to see you laughing about your dad&#039;s joke.  When it first occurred to me to get The Daughter a &quot;car&quot; for Christmas, I was afraid that it would just hurt her feelings and make her mad.  I called my mom and my sister for advice and they both thought it was funny and said I should do it.  If she doesn&#039;t find it funny now, she&#039;ll probably be able to look back on it and laugh (I hope).</description>
