All in all, my Preferred Shopper discount card netted me a total of $4.28 discount which does not include the $2.76 saved by using the Kashi rain check. The entire purchase was made using my Kroger gift cards purchased from The Daughter’s school.

The school gets 5% of the value of the card. This is my favorite type of school fundraiser — all I have to do is buy groceries (something I do anyway, obviously ;-) , and Kroger gives money to the school. Tonight after the clerk thanked me for shopping at Kroger, I thanked him for donating money to The Daughter’s school.
