Day 44

Checks — $0.00
Yup, that says nada for a whole box of checks. I’ve got a WAMU Free Checking account and my checks are free for the life of the account. WAMU is my fourth bank in about 5 years and I couldn’t be happier them. There’s a branch just down the street which makes depositing my paycheck pretty simple. The tellers are always friendly and helpful. And the on-line services are excellent.
school — $100.00
I bought two $50 grocery cards — one for Kroger and one for Vitamin Cottage. I wanted a third $50 card for Wild Oats but they were out.
Sinclair — $13.90
Gas for The Tank; not a fill-up because I had to use a higher-priced station that I’m not used to (and didn’t like, by the way). But The Tank was on empty and we all know what that means. It means you buy gas as soon as you can where ever you can no matter what the price. Current mileage is 115,086; price was $2.779/gal; I bought 5.001 gallons.
Wild Oats — $8.91
Shared a tray of Veggie Combo sushi with The Daughter; she also enjoyed a Vitamin Water and a big white chocolate cookie. Small price to pay for a chance to bond with a 15-yo female who hates everything I do and everything I stand for, and most of all, that she’s so dependent on me.
Kroger — $25.67
- 2 tubs of Breyer’s ice cream
- 2 packages Smokey Robinson’s seafood gumbo
- broccoli
- apples
- bananas
- butternut squash
